Good Afternoon HCA Community,
As we move into another week, I want to encourage our families to continue staying connected and involved in the life of HCA. Christian education is strongest when parents, teachers, and school leadership work together toward the shared goal of helping our students grow academically, spiritually, and personally. Whether through supporting your child’s teacher, participating in school events, praying for our school, or simply staying engaged with what is happening on campus, your partnership makes a tremendous difference.
We also have several important announcements and upcoming dates to share this week. Please take a few moments to review the information below and make note of anything that applies to your family.
Most importantly, please continue to pray for HCA. Pray for wisdom for our teachers and leadership, growth and protection for our students, and God’s continued provision for our school. Our theme, “Christ We Preach,” reminds us that everything we do ultimately points beyond ourselves. Our desire is that Christ would remain at the center of our classrooms, our homes, and our school community.

Parent/Teacher Fellowship – Get Involved!
We are excited to begin another year of our HCA Parent/Teacher Fellowship! Our first PTF meeting of the school year will be held on Tuesday, September 22.
The Parent/Teacher Fellowship provides an opportunity for parents to become more connected to the life of HCA, support our faculty and students, assist with school events and activities, and help strengthen the community that makes our school so special.
Parents who may be interested in attending future PTF meetings or becoming involved are encouraged to complete our interest form:

Completing the form does not obligate you to participate in every meeting or activity—it simply helps us identify parents who would like to stay informed about opportunities to serve and connect. We would love to have you involved!
NC Opportunity Scholarship Endorsement Period
NCSEAA has opened MyPortal for Fall Award endorsements for Opportunity Scholarship and ESA+ recipients. Please take a moment to log in to your MyPortal account, select your To Do List, and endorse your fall award amount.
HCA proactively applies the NC Opportunity Scholarship amount to every recipient’s FACTS account at enrollment. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that all requirements are completed through NCSEAA, including certification and endorsement.
Please make sure you have completed all items on your MyPortal To-Do List. Failure to endorse your award will result in updated tuition charges in FACTS.
Please note that HCA is unable to assist with individual MyPortal account or password issues. Please follow NCSEAA’s online instructions for resetting your password or resolving account-access concerns.
HCA Learning Centers
Our Afterschool Learning Centers are underway, providing students in Kindergarten through 12th grade an opportunity to receive additional academic support directly from their teachers.

Operational Times:
Lower Grades (K–5) Learning Centers: 3:15–4:00 pm
Middle/Upper Grades Learning Centers: 3:15–4:15 pm
Extracurricular Activities: 3:15–4:45 pm
Please email your student’s classroom teacher the day prior if you would like your student to attend a Learning Center.
Pickup Procedures:
Parents should remain outside the appropriate office entrance, where students will be brought for dismissal and parent sign-out. Any student remaining after Learning Centers or extracurricular activities conclude will be signed into the Afterschool Program. Once a student has been signed into Afterschool, parents must sign the student out through the Afterschool team.
We encourage families to take advantage of this FREE opportunity whenever your student could benefit from additional help!
Student Medication Form and Medication Drop Off
Please remember that any student medication kept on campus—prescription or over-the-counter—must be accompanied by an HCA Medication Form completed by both a parent and the student’s physician.

Please do not send medication to school with your child. Medication may only be dropped off at the school office with a member of the school administration between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
Medication forms may also be faxed to HCA directly from your healthcare provider at 919-732-1566.
Partner With HCA Through Prayer & Giving
HCA’s ministry is made possible through the faithful partnership of families, friends, churches, and supporters who believe in Christ-centered education.
We invite our entire HCA community to partner with us in two important ways: pray and give.
Please pray for our students, faculty, leadership, and families—that God would provide for every need, grant wisdom, and continue using HCA to make an eternal impact in the lives of our students.

2026–2027 Afterschool Program
HCA offers afterschool care from 3:15–6:00 pm daily.
Daily Drop-In Rate: $25/day
Monthly Rate: $240/month

Our weekly lunch vendors are:
Monday: Colorado Burrito
Tuesday: Jersey Mike’s
Wednesday: Domino’s Pizza
Thursday: La Fiesta
Friday: Zaxby’s
Orders must be placed by noon the day before the lunch is served. For example, Monday lunch orders must be submitted by noon on Sunday.
My Hot Lunchbox is hoping to average at least 25 orders in order to continue offering service to HCA next year. We hope our families will continue enjoying this convenient option!

Share HCA with Another Family – And Receive $250!
One of the greatest compliments a family can give our school is referring another family to HCA.
If you have friends, neighbors, coworkers, or members of your church who are looking for a Christ-centered educational community, we would be honored if you would encourage them to visit Hillsborough Christian Academy.
As a thank-you to our current families, HCA offers a $250 tuition referral credit for every new family you refer who enrolls and remains enrolled through the 2026–2027 school year. The referral credit will be applied to your FACTS account in January 2027.
