Good Afternoon HCA Community,
As we begin November, please take a moment to review several important reminders. Tomorrow is Make-Up Picture Day, and this Friday marks the end of our first trimester grading period. Thank you for partnering with our teachers as students finish the trimester!

Make-Up Picture Day | Tomorrow, Monday, November 2
Make-Up Picture Day is tomorrow for all students who were absent or not yet enrolled at the time of our fall picture day.
Students must be present by 8:30 am or they will miss their picture appointment. Please plan accordingly to ensure your child arrives on time.
First Trimester Ends | Friday, November 6
This is the final week of the first trimester grading period. Please communicate directly with your child’s teacher for information about grading deadlines.
Teachers will finalize grades, and report cards will be posted to the FACTS Family Portal by Wednesday, November 18.
FACTS financial accounts must be current for access to the FACTS Family Portal and report cards. Please review your account and address any outstanding balance. Financial questions may be sent to [email protected].
Thanksgiving Break | November 25–27
HCA will be closed for Thanksgiving Break from Wednesday, November 25, through Friday, November 27. We look forward to this time for our families to rest, gather, and give thanks.
50/50 Raffle Information
Our Annual 50/50 Raffle is underway and will run through Tuesday, November 24! Each student receives 10 tickets to start. For additional tickets, please contact the school office.
Please return all ticket stubs and funds by November 24. Return any unused tickets promptly so we can share them with other families. We will draw the winning ticket on November 24!
New for 2026: Raffle tickets can be paid for online! See the QR code on the ticket to make an electronic payment.

NC Opportunity Scholarship and ESA+ Reminders
If your family receives an Opportunity Scholarship or ESA+ award, please make sure you have completed all required items on your NCSEAA MyPortal To-Do List, including your fall award endorsement.
HCA proactively applies the NC Opportunity Scholarship amount to every recipient’s FACTS account at enrollment. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that all requirements are completed through NCSEAA, including certification and endorsement.
Failure to endorse your award will result in updated tuition charges in FACTS. HCA is unable to assist with individual MyPortal account or password issues. Please follow NCSEAA’s online instructions for resetting your password or resolving account-access concerns.
HCA Learning Centers
Our Afterschool Learning Centers provide students with an opportunity to receive additional academic support directly from their teachers.

Operational Times
- Lower Grades (K–5) Learning Centers: 3:15–4:00 pm
- Middle/Upper Grades Learning Centers: 3:15–4:15 pm
- Extracurricular Activities: 3:15–4:45 pm
Please email your student’s classroom teacher the day prior if you would like your student to attend a Learning Center.
Pickup Procedures
Parents should remain outside the appropriate office entrance, where students will be brought for dismissal and parent sign-out. Any student remaining after Learning Centers or extracurricular activities conclude will be signed into the Afterschool Program. Once a student has been signed into Afterschool, parents must sign the student out through the Afterschool team.
We encourage families to take advantage of this FREE opportunity whenever your student could benefit from additional help!

Our weekly lunch vendors are:

Orders must be placed by noon the day before the lunch is served. For example, Monday lunch orders must be submitted by noon on Sunday.
