Good Afternoon HCA Community,
We’re looking forward to a wonderful week of school spirit and community at HCA! Spirit Week begins tomorrow, October 19, with a different dress-up theme each day, and our Annual Chili Cookoff is this Friday, October 23. We hope your family will join in the fun as we celebrate the friendships and community that make HCA special. Reminder – all spirit week outfits must remain in dress code.

Spirit Week | October 19–23
Let’s show our school spirit! Students are invited to participate in these daily themes:
Motivation Monday — October 19: Dress for the career you dream of and show off your future!
Twin Tuesday — October 20: Double the fun and double the spirit! Find your twin and dress alike.
Western Wednesday — October 21: Saddle up with cowboy hats, boots, and western wear!
Tailgate Thursday — October 22: Wear your favorite sports attire, jersey, or team colors.
Fall Friday — October 23: Wear fall colors: red, burgundy, orange, yellow, or brown.

Annual HCA Chili Cookoff | Friday, October 23 6-8 pm
Join us this Friday (6 – 8 pm) for an evening of delicious chili, friendly competition, and time together!
This tradition is about more than great food—it’s a chance to celebrate the families, friendships, and school spirit that make our community so special. Whether you’re bringing your favorite chili recipe or simply coming to enjoy the fun, we’d love to see you there.

NC Opportunity Scholarship and ESA+ Reminders
If your family receives an Opportunity Scholarship or ESA+ award, please make sure you have completed all required items on your NCSEAA MyPortal To-Do List, including your fall award endorsement.

HCA proactively applies the NC Opportunity Scholarship amount to every recipient’s FACTS account at enrollment. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that all requirements are completed through NCSEAA, including certification and endorsement.
Failure to endorse your award will result in updated tuition charges in FACTS. Please note that HCA is unable to assist with individual MyPortal account or password issues. Please follow NCSEAA’s online instructions for resetting your password or resolving account-access concerns.
HCA Learning Centers
Our Afterschool Learning Centers provide students in Kindergarten through 12th grade an opportunity to receive additional academic support directly from their teachers.

Operational Times
- Lower Grades (K–5) Learning Centers: 3:15–4:00 pm
- Middle/Upper Grades Learning Centers: 3:15–4:15 pm
- Extracurricular Activities: 3:15–4:45 pm
Please email your student’s classroom teacher the day prior if you would like your student to attend a Learning Center.
Pickup Procedures
Parents should remain outside the appropriate office entrance, where students will be brought for dismissal and parent sign-out. Any student remaining after Learning Centers or extracurricular activities conclude will be signed into the Afterschool Program. Once a student has been signed into Afterschool, parents must sign the student out through the Afterschool team.
We encourage families to take advantage of this FREE opportunity whenever your student could benefit from additional help!

HCA offers afterschool care from 3:15–6:00 pm daily.
- Daily Drop-In Rate: $25/day
- Monthly Rate: $240/month

Our weekly lunch vendors are:

Orders must be placed by noon the day before the lunch is served. For example, Monday lunch orders must be submitted by noon on Sunday.

One of the greatest compliments a family can give our school is referring another family to HCA.
If you have friends, neighbors, coworkers, or members of your church who are looking for a Christ-centered educational community, we would be honored if you would encourage them to visit Hillsborough Christian Academy.
As a thank-you to our current families, HCA offers a $250 tuition referral credit for every new family you refer who enrolls and remains enrolled through the 2026–2027 school year. The referral credit will be applied to your FACTS account in January 2027.
